As with all screens in SHACKLOG, a design goal has been to simplify data entry so that you can play radios rather than struggle with your PC!
SHACKLOG allows you to record lots of information about the QSO and/or the station you are working. The table lists the data that can be recorded.
Much of the information is entered automatically by SHACKLOG. You may easily change any of the data that SHACKLOG enters.
Here is a sample of the QSO screen:

| This graphic shows the QSO screen in NEW QSO mode, waiting to start logging by entry of a callsign. On the right is a table showing the last few entries in the log. On the left are the names of the field s that can be logged, and to their right are the data fields themselves. The panel marked ‘IOTA‘ displays island details, or distance and bearing from your home locator to a locator specified in the LOCATOR field – see screen fragment below:. | ||||

| LOGGING A QSO | ||||
| Logging a QSO is simplicity itself. Just enter a callsign, and SHACKLOG does much of the rest: |

All the information displayed in the various fields, with the exception of the CALL field has been entered by SHACKLOG, either from previous QSOs, from the PC clock, or from the radio. Also, on the right, SHACKLOG is displaying a scrollable list of previous QSOs with the station currently being logged. Whilst in QSO, the TIME OFF field will track current time. When the QSO finishes, simply press <F1> to enter the QSO into the log.
