SAM-I v5.5.00
Released November 6th, 2002
Bug fixes
None
Functionality changes
| This release adds an
interface to IOTAMEM.
Now you can export all islands having "claimed" status to IOTAMEM by creating an IOTAMEM UPDATE FILE (.UPF). Data exported for each claimed island is: IOTA reference, CALLSIGN, and COMMENT (if any). The UPF file will be created in your IOTA directory. Create the UPF file by using <F6> I-MEM on the CLAIMS screen. Import the UPF file into IOTAMEM using LOGBOOK IMPORT. You will need to navigate to the IOTA directory in order to select the UPF file. |

SAM-I v5.4.01
Released January 13th, 2001
Bug fixes
If the SHACKLOG log contained a QSO with an invalid IOTA reference, such as 'X', during an update of the islands database using SAM-I, SAMI would try to find the IOTA Index file for continent X. Not finding such a file, SAMI would request IOTAINDX to be run to generate the index file. IOTAINDX of course only generates index files for the 7 valid continents. This meant that SAMI could never perform an update. This is now fixed, as SAM-I now validates the IOTA field for each QSO and does not perform an update for a QSO with an invalid IOTA reference. In theory, the SHACKLOG log cannot contain an invalid IOTA reference, but at least one user has managed to get an invalid IOTA reference into his log

New functionality
IOTA Directory number: Enter your IOTA Directory number from the CLAIM Screen by means of DIR# <F4>. This facilty was in SHACKLOG, but as the Directory number is only used by SAM-I, it makes sense to have the facility in SAM-I.
Awards Screen: The AWARDS Screen now gives a summary breakdown by continent.
World Diploma Screen : The World Diploma Award Screen now gives a summary breakdown by continent, as above plus the qualifying number of islands per continent, and number of islands needed per continent.
Edit Screen: There is now a function key which erases the entry for an island in the SAM-I islands database.
Simultaneous operation with SHACKLOG: You can now run SAM-I and SHACKLOG simultaneously under MS Windows. This needs SHACKLOG V5.1 or later.
