Using SHACKLOG in Contests

Although not a fully fledged contest logger, SHACKLOG can be operated in CONTEST MODE, when it provides the basics of contest operating such as DUPE checking and serial number incrementing.
SHACKLOG has a screen which is used to configure a specific contest, as the following screen shot shows:
When used in contest mode, after entering a call  sign to start logging the QSO, SHACKLOG will use the REMARKS1 field to log the outgoing/incoming serial numbers. Upon termination of the serial number entry (by pressing <enter>), SHACKLOG moves the data entry point the the field specified by NEXT FIELD in the above. Thus for the IOTA contest, NEXT FIELD should be set to IOTA; for CQWW it should be set to CQ ZONE, etc so that, if you wish, data can be entered in this field. Here is a screen shot of part of the QSO screen in CONTEST mode ready to accept entry of a callsign to start logging the next contest QSO:
To log a contest QSO, it is only necessary to do the following:
Enter a call sign. SHACKLOG checks for dupes, moves the cursor for data input to the REMARKS1 field, displays the next outgoing exchange, displays previous contest QSOs for the station.
Enter received exchange SHACKLOG moves to the field set up as NEXT FIELD (see above).
If required, enter data in NEXT FIELD.
Press <F1> to log the QSO.
